InTheNews.co.za is looking for writers to contribute articles to the site. If you’re interested, please read on.
The aim of the site is to:
1. Take a critical, analytical view of all matters relating to the latest news in South Africa and Africa.
2. Offer a range of different perspectives on the news ranging from current affairs, politics, business, sport and entertainment to readers from all across the world.
3. Engage readers in discussion on what is make the news.
4. As the slogan for InTheNews.co.za says ‘News as We See It’.
Most news sites on the internet today focus on giving us news as it happens i.e. the facts. We do not want to be like that. We want to hear opinions from the normal everyday person who is affected by this news and get their take on the matter. We are not playing down the importance of journalists and what they write about but we want to bring news to the readers from a different perspective. Our writers can be from any background. You may be a teacher, accountant, student or waiter, but you are the ones we want to hear your take on the news from.
For example, if a major piece of news happens in South Africa today, many websites will run with the story and post a headline and article with the facts; this is great but we do not want our readers to read the same thing when they visit differnt websites, we want them to get a different take on the story when they visit InTheNews.co.za. And who wants to read the same story over and over again anyway?
InTheNews.co.za aims to be different. We want to publish original articles written by the normal everyday person who has a view about what is making the news. We want to give writers the platform to air their views and at the same time give readers something worthwhile to read.
With almost 1000 visits a day, InTheNews.co.za is growing on a daily rate.
