This situation in Zimbabwe is getting worse by the hour. The recent outbreak of cholera in the country has left hundreds dead and there seems not to be a solution anytime soon. The capital, Harare, has had its water supply turned off as they can no longer afford the chemicals needed to purify the water. Lives are being lost simply due to the mismanagement of the country. One could say it is the governments fault, but who is the government in Zimbabwe right now? For months now they have failed to agree on a government of national unity and as a result people or dying every hour.

It is easy for one to say that the MDC should just agree and form a government of national unity and get things back on track in the country but the MDC are wary that signing such a deal which they do not agree on could have even worse effects than those being experienced now. As long as the MDc holds out from signing a deal, the situation in Zimbabwe will not get any better. But can you blame the MDC for their stance?

Now it seems that the pressure is increasing on President Robert Mugabe as his army is potentially starting to turn against him. Earlier this week there were riots in Harare by soldiers as they ran amok, rampaging through the streets and looting from shops in an unprecedented show of anger which has left President Robert Mugabe’s government shaken. Mugabe has always had the confidence that no matter what happens, the army is on his side but now it looks like they are turning against him and that could leave Mugabe with no foot to stand on. The soldiers are said to be angry because they are failing to access cash from banks, their salaries being worthless and the general hardships they are facing. A hungry person is an angry person, no matter who you are.

For years we have been saying that the situation in Zimbabwe can not get any worse but everyday, something new happens and you just wonder that when will all of this end? We all hope it will be very soon as the people of Zimbabwe has suffered long enough.

africa needs leaders someone who has the balls and backbone to stand up and and go back to basics, this started when the farms were evaded and taken away sa government should have stepped in to save the zim ecconomy.we keep leaving things to long in everything we do and dont take a stance on it immediatly, this applies in sittuations in sa. african governments must learn to step in on any sittuation were there problems and settle it before it becomes to exspensive and to time consuming.this style of management has also filtered down to our management in corperate companies, this soft approach will never work.we need real men,not softies.
