He had been out of the news for a while but now he is back and maybe even louder than ever. ANC Youth League President, Julius Malema is making the headlines again. In the beginning it was all about “Kill for Zuma”, then after that there was the whole saga about his matric results and now he has come out and started ‘taking shots’ at a lot of people. Malema has recently had a dig at Congress of the People (COPE) co-leader and former Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa by referring to him as a security guard and claimed he was delinquent over child-support payments. Are these the kind of things one has to say especially in the build up to a major election next year? Is Malema going to cost ANC votes?

I personally think so. A lot of people are not happy with Malema including those in the ANC. Malema is meant to be representing the youth of the country but I am sure that the majority of the youth do not agree with Malema’s statements. What would be hurting the ANC even more is that Malema is also having a go at those inside the party. Last week, Malema accused the Northern Cape premier of being “bought” by business while she sat near him on the same podium. I wonder how she must have felt hearing that.

It has been said that ANC President, Jacob Zuma has asked Malema to tone down and stop ’shooting his mouth off’. COPE must be loving this. The more Malema speaks, the more people he is potentially pushing away from the ANC and subsequently being led to another political party. ANC’s loss can been COPE’s gain, all thanks to Malema.

What do you think of Malema’s actions to date?

I have been following Malema’s speeches, even now i have’nt heard addressing a single issue affecting the youth of SA.i.e lack of skills among youth which leads to unemployment,HIV-AIDS,economy etc all he does is throwing insults at others, which seems to be the order of the day for most ANC members even the one i respected like Dr. Pallo Jordan. ANC is in for a nasty surprise next year. We are tired.

I am not sure why Malema even bother’s to apologize for anything, because he always goes back on his word. Please Julius, would you mind keeping quite just until after th elections,we are busy tring to build a better South Africa. You will cost the organization important votes. Keep your opinions to yourself.
